Background

Bryan County Schools is a public school district serving approximately 10,000 students in grades Pk-12 in rural Georgia. Although the district standardized classroom technology with Newline interactive flat panels, teachers wanted more flexibility in their classrooms when it came to wireless screen sharing.

The Challenge

The Bryan County Schools Technology Department wanted to provide teachers with the ability to set up their classrooms according to their individual needs and not be constrained to teach from the front of the classroom. The team also faced inconsistent performance from their interactive flat panels (IFPS) across the school district, especially when it came to wireless screen sharing. They looked for a solution that could add reliability, better meet the needs of their teachers, and allow for greater mobility and promote greater collaboration in their classrooms.

The Solution

The Technology Team, led by Director of Technology Bob Betz, paired ɫ��� with all their existing Newline IFPs. This combination gave teachers the flexibility they wanted to teach from anywhere in their classrooms, deliver interactive lessons, and meet student needs while still providing a consistent, reliable experience in all school buildings and classrooms. ɫ��� is now an essential tool used throughout Bryan County Schools – in classrooms, the media center, and even the cafeteria.

“There’s an expectation of the ability to collaborate, show your work, and communicate with your teacher,” says Betz. “ɫ��� is not just a casting platform. It is a collaborative communication tool as well as a presentation tool.”
