ɫ streamlines at-school communications on Android-based Panels via the new ɫ Display App.

Houston, Texas — ɫ, the only wireless screen mirroring and school communications solution purpose-built for education, today announced a software-only version of its full suite of tools. The new ɫ Display App works seamlessly on most Android-based interactive flat panels, creating a highly targeted communication network to deliver messages more effectively to teachers and students throughout the school day.

“Classroom displays are a significant investment for schools, particularly if they’re interactive flat panels,” says Natalie Mactier, Chief Executive Officer of ɫ. “With budgets tightening and an increasing desire for sustainability, schools must look for ways to deliver more value and longevity from existing hardware. With ɫ’s range of communication features, these legacy displays can now be used for school communications as well as instructional purposes at a fraction of the cost of a new panel.”

The ɫ Display App for Android-based interactive flat panels will enable school leaders to deliver emergency alerts, video and text announcements, and digital signage directly into classrooms, as well as to any other ɫ-enabled display or group of displays around the school. ɫ’s award winning screen mirroring solution provides teachers with classroom management tools that drive student engagement and encourage greater collaboration.

“At ɫ, we are committed to delivering technology that empowers educators with innovative tools to enhance the school experience,” affirms Ian Shrimpton, Chief Technology Officer of ɫ. “By delivering ɫ directly into existing classroom displays, we make it easier for schools to unlock additional value.”

From June, the ɫ Display App will be available for download and installation on most Promethean ActivPanels. Additional releases will follow for other interactive panels, including SMARTboards, Clevertouch, CommBox, and Phillips panels. Schools using a mix of displays such as projectors and TVs can connect all their devices into one communication network using a mix of ɫ’s hardware (ɫ Display Box) and software (ɫ Display App).
